WELCOME!

Starting March 1st I will be sharing my Gut Healing Journey with you here and on Instagram.
Gut health is the most crucial aspect of our health and wellness. Health begins in the gut but so does disease. Each meal can be looked at as an opportunity to nourish the body and promote health, or increase inflammation and promote imbalances that lead to disease. Many of our most common autoimmune conditions, diseases and disorders are directly related to the state of our gut.
Because of this, addressing gut health is the most important first step to holistic healing.

I wanted to share this journey with you because I wanted you to see what is possible when you focus your energy on healing your gut. Over the next four weeks I’ll be sharing meal plans, my favourite supplements, specialty recipes and important information on the main steps to healing your gut. It is important to note that what I am sharing with you is a basic version of a more personalized plan - as healing is a very personal journey. I created a 30 day holistic protocol for myself, factoring in my health concerns, goals and lifestyle. From that 30 day personalized gut healing protocol I created an introductory, simple gut healing protocol that would make a positive influence on anyone’s overall health, regardless of their goals. My weekly meal plans are focused around nutrient rich, anti-inflammatory and gut friendly foods. My recommended supplements are standard staples in promoting a healthy immune system with dosage recommendations in line with the RDA. If you are looking for a more customized, therapeutic dosage it is best to consult with a trained health care practitioner or nutritionist who specializes in orthomolecular medicine. I also encourage you to get your vitamin and mineral levels checked - this can often be order by a naturopath or your primary physician.
Understanding the bigger picture of your overall health not only helps you but also helps any practitioner you may be working with to support your goals. When a client shares their most recent blood work with me I am able to get a more comprehensive picture of their health and make sense of the root cause of their imbalances. Studying symptoms is another great way to assess imbalances and identify root causes of concerns. This can often be done through symptomatology and can be narrowed done with the use of a questionnaire that rates the level at which you experience the symptoms. Symptoms are our body’s means of communication. They are often the early “red flag” warnings that we don’t begin take seriously, until they accelerate into more serious conditions.

Essentially taking the time to really understand the factors affecting your life, challenges around nutrient dense eating, deep diving into your symptoms and their root causes, are all valuable ways that a nutritionist can help you to make positive changes to your life. I hope you enjoy a small snippet of what it’s like to work alongside a nutritionist and the different ways we support a healthy lifestyle.
Below is a seven day meal plan focused on gut healthy, anti-inflammatory, nutrient dense foods. It comes complete with a weekly meal plan, shopping list and recipes. The meal plan can be manipulated to suit your needs. Don’t have time to cook everyday? Pick one to two meals to rotate for lunch and dinner and cook For the whole week. Have more time and don’t like leftover? You can always prepare each meal a la minute.
